What has the Council ever done for me? Opportunities and challenges for Local Government in 2018

Come share a coffee/tea and debate current issues. Wandsworth's own Dr Claire Mansfield will give an overview of what local government is responsible for, why its important and some of the issues facing it.

Dr Mansfield oversaw the NLGN research programme. Particular interests included place shaping, community engagement and local government’s relationship with other public services and local stakeholders. Previously, Claire worked as a Support Officer for a Local Involvement Network (LINk) in London and carried out research for the Social Inclusion Unit of Cork City Council. Claire holds a PhD (NUI) in Social Sustainability.

Our speaker will give an opening statement/speech to frame discussion before we open the floor for questions and debate.

Children are very welcome. If you do not think your little one will be interested in the topic, the venue hosts a free crèche for ages from 3 to 11 starting from 12:00 to 17:00 on Sundays.
